Mark MacKinnon – Strength, Conditioning & Nutrition Coach – North America
Mark has over 20 years of hockey experience including at the collegiate and professional level.
He has been involved in his own training for over 10 years, and has been training athletes of all levels currently, and for the past 3 years at Focus Fitness, the official training and practice facility of the Winnipeg Jets (NHL) and Manitoba Moose (AHL).
Mark is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS). In addition, he is a Precision Nutrition level 1 Coach (Pn1). He is continually researching, evaluating, and implementing methods for improving performance and training.
Being part of the Quantum team, Mark sees an opportunity to reach more athletes and assist them in attaining their objectives. He takes tremendous satisfaction in contributing to an athlete’s success, as they are challenged to meet and exceed new physical goals and performance expectations. His goal is to establish life changing habits for the athlete so they can achieve great success in their sport.
Mark aims to create athlete specific strength and conditioning plans, combined with education on proper dietary skills and nutritional plans designed to maximize performance. His hope is that the knowledge the athlete acquires, will extend to their playing careers and beyond.
Spencer Rellinger - Analytics & Report – North America
Spencer was born and raised in Toronto. Spencer started playing hockey at a young age where he became a goalie. He went to high school at Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut. At Westminster, Spencer played soccer, hockey, lacrosse, and golf. After his last competitive game, Spencer thought that if he could not play anymore, he wanted to be in the hockey industry in some fashion. After watching Moneyball, Spencer decided that sports stats and reporting was what he had a passion for. After high school, Spencer attended Providence College where he was an accounting and finance major. After two years at Providence, Spencer decided to transfer back home to Toronto to be with his family and attend York University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 2021. At York, Spencer did analytics for the Men’s and Women’s hockey teams. Spencer joined Quantum in 2021 because he loved the passion and dedication that Joachim has.
Born and raised outside of Stockholm, Sweden, with a big love for all sports and especially hockey. Started playing at the age of 4 and through out his playing carrier played for HV71(J20), Prince Albert Raiders (WHL), Sweden U16 & U17 and Arlanda Wings (DIV 1). After the career as a player ended at 22 the focus was to study coaching at University of Gothenburg. Coaching everything from individual hockey players, football team, CrossFit for the past 9 years has led to opportunities like being named strength and conditioning coach for the Kunlun Red Star in KHL/VHL (China/Russia). Besides being a Strength and Conditioning Coach, Fredrik also work with fascia therapy and treatment to help people move and feel better. Now, at the age of 31, Fredrik is co-owner of Vagnhallen CrossFit in Gothenburg and is hungrier than ever to learn and to teach more about training and to build better players for the future!
Coach Chris Palmer started coaching individuals and teams in motivation and mindset in 1994. A former 2-time All-American runner and NIKE-sponsored athlete, he took his M.A. in psychology and his love for hockey and sport, consulted with successful hockey coaches & former professional, AHL, and NHL athletes to create a hockey compete mindset training program that dramatically changes athlete, coach, and team performance, on and off the ice.
Piranha Training’s advisory board exists to ensure that everything we do is based on the real-life experiences and perspectives of professional hockey players and successful coaches and trainers in the sport.
Great ideas are born from collaboration, mixing the best ideas of sports psychology, and coaching with the real-life needs, experiences, and perspectives of those who have played and coached the game at the highest levels. Chris is part of the QHA Family Advisor Program acting as a Mental Performance Coach.
McYawgi works as a video editor for QHA and started in January 2020. On the side he works as a full-time streamer on the platform twitch.tv. McYawgi is a childhood friend to both the Founder, Joachim but also the Player Agent Robin.
