Milestone Moment
“Proved that his skating and passing abilities are at the SHL level”
What an exciting season for our client Nils Strandberg Saren! The 19-year-old Swede made his debut in Sweden’s top league the SHL on February 9, 2022. The defenseman was playing for Djurgarden J20 in J20 Nationell and got called up to their SHL team Djurgardens IF. The team, located in Stockholm Sweden is a historic club that is highly decorated and the most successful Swedish hockey team of all time. It’s quite an honour for Nils and our agency. Nils is the agency’s first player to make it to the top level of Swedish hockey, the SHL. We are excited and proud of his accomplishment and the great start to his young career.
Nils played 9 games on the blueline in the SHL for about 41 minutes of ice time and a minus 1. It is a great accomplishment considering he is only 19 years old and getting his first taste of top-level hockey. After 9 games, he went back to his junior team (J20 Nationell, top tier Junior in Sweden) to assist in their playoff push which resulted in a Silver medal! This season has been a great learning experience for Nils and he will grow from this into the player we know he can be.
His agent Robin Mattebo says “It was great to see Nisse getting that opportunity and that he also did so well. He proved that his skating and passing abilities are at the SHL level”.
Quantum Hockey Agency founder Joachim Hanberg also commented “It was great seeing Nils getting the opportunity to feel the heat up in the SHL and taking huge steps forward in his development. It is also a nostalgic moment for our agency as Nils is our first client in the SHL.
