Where It All Started
QUANTUM WAS BUILT BY OUR UNDERSTANDING OF A PLAYER’S NEEDS
Quantum Hockey Agency was founded on February 27, 2019, after months of meticulous planning by Joachim Hånberg. Prior to its official launch, Joachim dedicated significant time to laying the foundation for the organization, ensuring that the agency would be well-positioned for success. Recognizing the need for a player-first agency that prioritized both career development and personal growth, he partnered with Brandyn Garth to bring this vision to life.
At its inception, Quantum Hockey Agency represented three players—Mark MacKinnon, Marselis Subban, and Dan Stollery—each of whom had previously been teammates of Joachim and Brandyn. This close connection fostered a deep sense of trust and commitment between the agency and its clients. From day one, the agency focused on providing comprehensive representation, helping players navigate contract negotiations, career opportunities, and personal branding within the ever-evolving hockey landscape.
Since its establishment, Quantum Hockey Agency has experienced significant growth. As of 2025, the agency boasts a team of 16 staff members, including three agents based in Europe and eight in North America. With a strong international presence, the agency now represents over 200 clients worldwide, ranging from rising prospects to established professionals.

Our History
Feb 27, 2019
The Journey Begins
On February, the 27, Quantum Hockey Agency saw the light of day. Joachim Hanberg had for a year visualized a potential start of the agency. With months of planning, research, and pre-work, it became true on this day along with the Co-Founder Brandyn Garth. The agency started with three players (Mark MacKinnon, Marselis Subban and Dan Stollery) to start with. Both Joachim and Brandyn were former teammates to these players.
A humble beginning, with only three clients and only two persons in the organization. From this day the development of things was fast paced.
March 13, 2019
First client in QHA history
In their scouting work, the agency found an interesting player named Caleb Eefting. Caleb was already on an amazing journey, with two seasons in Swedish Division 3 leading to a season in Division 2. The third season in Sweden ended with Caleb being picked up in Division 1 (Hockeyettan)!
After some talks, Caleb and the agency decided to begin working together. The first client was signed!
April 16, 2019
First Client Signed
Mark MacKinnon was the first player that the agency helped to sign with a team. He signed a one-year contract with Trollhättans HC in Swedish Division 2 season 19/20.
September 8, 2019
First client signed in Magnus Ligue
Client Jerry Laakso was signed to Scorpions de Mulhouse in Magnus Ligue, the top league in France. It was the first client to be signed in a European top league.
May 29, 2020
First client signed to Hockeyallsvenskan
Gilbert Gabor was the first client to be signed to Hockeyallsvenskan (Swedish second league). He signed with Västerviks IK. Gilbert had previously great success in Slovakia winning two gold medals.
