WHL Player Joins the Quantum Roster!

At the moment, Quantum Hockey Agency has 6 clients, 5 defencemen and 1 goalkeeper. Things are looking good and all 5 defencemen have an address for next season while their goalie, Jake Theut, has lots of interest and it wouldn’t be shocking to hear about a destination very shortly.

With most of our clients signed to various teams in Europe, Quantum is looking to recruit a few more players to their stall.

Austin Crossley, a six-foot, 210-pound WHL defenceman out of Fort St. John, BC, CAN, is the next exciting name to join Quantum Hockey Agency. Austin, who has played for Prince George Cougars in the last two season, seems to be happy with where he is at and is very optimistic about his senior season in the WHL.

Prince George Cougar’s General Manager/Head Coach, Mark Lamb, is also optimistic since Austin can not only can play defence, but forward as well.

“Last season they tried me on forward and I didn’t mind it at all, so I might be playing forward and defense this upcoming season. Who knows?” Austin says with a smile.

In May 2016, Crossley was crowned a national champion when he represented B.C. at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Mississauga, with the team going undefeated and capturing gold at the tournament. His performance in the tournament was solid, earning him the Most Valuable Defenseman award – one that he earned while playing with a broken hand.

It was the starting point for his WHL career when he received a call from the Prince Albert Raiders only two months later. Two great seasons in Prince Albert with 49 games played in total, Crossley was then part of a larger trade that went down with Prince George Cougars in January 2018. His teammate Rhett Rhinehart, a 2020 NHL Entry Draft prospect was also part of this trade and is today also playing for the Cougars.

Crossley says he is satisfied with his two recent seasons at Prince George and very optimistic about the upcoming season. His role has become significantly larger and he is usually the first to back his teammates in every game by using his fists. 146 penalty minutes last season speaks for it.
